Gerard Quinn
Gerard Quinn has worked at ICON for over 9 years and currently holds the role of VP, Innovation & Informatics.
Gerard has over 25 years’ in the life science industry, in both human and animal health, with experience in innovation, strategy, and project portfolio management, process improvement and IT.
Gerard holds an MSc in Strategic Quality Management – Lean Six Sigma, BSc is Technology Management and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black belt. He applies his experience to all areas of e-clinical innovation and the nurturing of the enterprise innovation mindset.
Gerard's team at ICON leads the innovative activities in technology and data science. They identify and build key partnerships with life science and technology leaders to co-develop services and capabilities by evaluating joint capabilities with the aim of driving efficient clinical trials for our sponsors and patients. They also lead the development of ML/AI solutions that improve cycle times across the clinical research value chain, that provide new intelligence and insight for key decision makers and that in general improve the speed and quality of clinical research.
Michael Phillips
Michael Phillips has worked for ICON for approximately 10 years, and currently leads the Innovation Data Science Team. He has over 20 years’ experience in IT, business intelligence, data analytics, and eClinical innovation, accumulating strong experience in team leadership, business partnering, solution design and customer engagement.
Michael has broader experience in academic biomedical research, with a PhD in Drug Metabolism Enzymology, and spent 10 years working in management roles in biomedical publishing. Michael is the author of TIBCO Spotfire – A Comprehensive Primer.
Gilyana Borlikova
Gilyana Borlikova is a Data Science Manager (Principal Data Scientist) at ICON plc. IT Innovation and Informatics Data Science team, responsible for development and delivery of ML/AI solutions. Over 20 years of experience in life sciences and 7 years specifically developing and implementing Machine Learning algorithms for clinical trials operations.
Prior to joining ICON, Gilyana spent 15 years working in several leading research-intensive universities, including the UCD Centre for Business Analytics, University College Dublin (Ireland), University of Queensland (Australia) and the University of Sussex (UK). Gilyana holds MSc in Business Analytics and PhD in Neuroscience. She has extensive research experience with 5 peer-reviewed publications in the field of Machine Learning and 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in Biomedical Research.
